For several years now, Donald Trump has been making headlines with his (in)famous tweets. But there is one big difference these days; HE IS OUR PRESIDENT NOW! There were a lot of people who thought he may change his tone once he took office. They were dead wrong. It seems that his newfound power has only encouraged him to tweet even more often. While many are freaking out about this, I'm sitting back enjoying the free entertainment.
Let's take a look at some of his recent episodes...
This one's a winner. Here's a classic Trump-style takedown. Although the New York Times is one of the most popular news sources in the nation, they are somehow “failing” once they upset Trump. Who knows, though, if he focuses enough attention on the New York Times, I'm not surprised if they fell apart. He's very good at destroying people and things.
And there were many other attacks on the liberal news media. In the past, presidents have, for the most part, taken the punches delivered by the media. Trump, on the other hand, clearly doesn't mind hitting back. I have a feeling he gets a satisfying rush when attacking the media.
This refers to Judge Robart's reversing of Trump's travel ban. My favorite part of this tweet is, “blame him and the court system.” I'm actually surprised he didn't say something more fire-filled.
This tweet has been gaining a lot of press for using the term “so-called judge.” This shows that our so-called president has absolutely no problem (and perhaps enjoys) attacking the other two branches of government. As someone who has never held public office, he seems to be learning about “checks & balances” the hard way.
Although no nation came out in full support of the bans, it seems that these “certain countries” Trump refers to are the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. Interestingly, one of these nations is the subject of Congressional legislation regarding its role in the 9/11 attacks. It almost seems like they're supporting the ban to get heat off themselves. Politics as usual.
I bet if you asked the Democrats (and many Republicans), this would entail getting Trump and his team out of the country.
After cutting short their “very civil conversation,” Trump said it was “the worst call by far.” Who knows what to believe anymore.
Before leaving office, President Obama extended sanctions on Iran. According to Trump, this was “kind,” adding he would be a lot tougher. All I can say is get ready for the heat, people.
How could you attack Arnold? Come on, Donnie. He's the Terminator, for Christ's sake. Arnold did fire back at Trump, saying, “why don't we switch jobs? You take over TV, because you're such an expert in rating, and I take over your job. And then people can finally sleep comfortably again.” Good one, Arnold.
This one is absolutely hilarious – comparing a broken microphone to the Democratic party and giving Schumer the nickname of “Fake Tears.” I gotta say, I can agree with Trump on this one and share a laugh.
There's a kind of dark and twisted magic that happens when you give a hot-headed, 70-year-old real estate mogul a twitter account and put him in the Oval Office. The game has changed, and there's no going back. Donald Trump has revamped what it means to be the president, and it will certainly affect the future of the office. If you take it all too seriously, there's a good chance you'll croak with tension. Personally, I sit back and enjoy it like the big show it is. Season 1 was the election. Now, we're on to Season 2 and, to be honest, the ratings have never been higher. My advice is to get ready for the ride because it's just starting...
